History of Primavera

Primavera Systems was founded in 1983 by Les Seskin, Dick Faris, and Joel Koppelman in Pennsylvania, USA. The company developed project management software tailored for large-scale, complex projects in industries such as construction, engineering, and government. Its flagship product, Primavera Project Planner (P3), gained widespread acclaim for its advanced project scheduling and resource management features.

Over time, Primavera expanded its product line to include tools like SureTrak for single-user project management and Primavera Expedition for contract administration. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Primavera embraced broader applications, such as portfolio management, by acquiring companies like Eagle Ray Software Systems and Prosight.

In 2008, Oracle Corporation acquired Primavera, transforming it into the Primavera Global Business Unit. Since then, Primavera has evolved into a sophisticated suite of tools, including Primavera P6, a leading enterprise project and portfolio management software. It now supports a wide range of industries with advanced scheduling, risk management, and resource planning capabilities
